Donations + How They Help 

During calendar year 2024, CUOCLC distributed 745,198 pounds of food to 8,607 households (706 coming for the first time). These households fed 32,502 individuals in and around Lee County.

Financial-pledge assistance was provided to 165 client-households totaling $37,846.02 - pledged primarily toward rental evictions, electric utilities and natural-gas bills.

In addition to emergency food assistance, households received free clothing and/or household items from community donations.

 

Backpack Pals is providing 500+ bags to approximately 23 schools in the Lee County School System each Thursday for kids needing weekend food assistance that find themselves in the Free and Reduced Meal Program.

Organic Vegetables

How your donations can help those in need:
1. Food Pantry program (in addition to donated foods and federal subsidies such as TEFAP, SNAP we purchase food from the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and local sources at very low rates).

2. Financial Assistance program (e.g., we frequently assist persons with rental evictions, utility bills that have received cut-off notices).
