– HCI Training
We
are so excited that CUOC was selected, along with 54 other nonprofits across
the state, to participate next week, in the “Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
North Carolina Healthy Community Institute for Nonprofit Excellence (HCI)”
training. This training is to strengthen the organizational capacity of the
nonprofit organization. It is a two-day intensive course that engages three- to
four-person teams from nonprofits in a comprehensive board and staff training
curriculum. Did I mention it is “Free” for us with a value of over $2,500 per
organization?
Each
attending organization was guided through a process that combines lectures with
team-based exercises including clarification of mission, strategic planning and
addressing agency-specific issues. Interconnected presentations provide
practical insight into solving operational problems, understanding board roles
and responsibilities, evaluating board performance, creating effective annual
appeal campaigns, and understanding giving criteria from the grant maker’s
perspective, selling the organization in the community, managing finances, and
much more.
